Paratopia Needs Your Help…

With the mounting costs of producing a podcast, and the current state of financial crisis in this world we live in…we’re asking for your help. This podcast has always been largely financed by the hosts, but recent events have made the cost and time nearly impossible to manage. We are moving to a new server that will present all episodes of Paratopia from Episode 1. While this new provider is more reliable, it doesn’t negate that this podcast still costs money, and money for us is in short supply (as it is for everyone).

We want to continue working hard bringing you the best guests, going to the best locations for data gathering, and holding listener interactive jaunts to locations with paranormal activity. This is what we wanted Paratopia to be: not just a podcast, but a community seeking answers proactively. Anyone can talk; this podcast gets involved. We’ve proven that in prior episodes.

So, the plea is this: we need donations to cover rising expenses and server space. Make no bones about it: neither Jeff nor Jeremy relish asking our listeners for it, but it’s become an unavoidable aspect of doing this show.

If you can send 1 dollar, 5 dollars, or any amount at all, it’s appreciated beyond belief. Our donate button is on the right side of our homepage for donations through PayPal. It pains us both to say if we cannot amass the funds needed to keep it going, this podcast is not likely to last the next 6 months. That’s just how serious it’s become. We never wanted to ask for donations at all - but it’s finally come to this.

For $25 to $50 donation, we’ll ask for a picture of you for our Donation Hall of Fame page…where Jeff will deck it out in all sorts of PhotoShop coolness and sign it, like he’s done for so many of our guests. You’ll also get a high resolution file of the art sent to you for your printing needs.

For a $75 or above donation, you’ll receive the above artwork and inclusion on our site, but also receive a really cool surprise gift mailed to you via snail mail.

Please know your donations to the show in any amount go to helping us do more with Paratopia, and that means more content, more shows, and more great activities for out listeners to get intimately involved in.

We have a big hurdle to climb, but with your help, we know we can do it.

Thank You, Paratopia

In Memory of Mac Tonnies

maccopy.jpg

“Consciousness is a potential technology; we are exquisite machines, nothing less than sentient patterns. As such, there’s no convincing technical reason we can’t eventually upload ourselves into matrices of our design and choosing. It’s likely the phenomenon we casually call “intelligence” will cease to be strictly biological as we begin to merge with our machines more meaningfully and intimately. (Philip K. Dick once wrote that “living and nonliving things are exchanging properties.” I suspect that in a few hundred years, barring disaster, separating the animate from the inanimate will probably be an exercise in futility.) Ultimately, we have two options: self-mutate by venturing off-planet in minds and bodies of our own design, or succumb to extinction.”

Paratopia Episode 41 - First Season Wrap Up

Jeff and Jeremy wrap up Season One of Paratopia. Where we stand, where we went, and where we’re going. The next 2 weeks we’ll be on location in Gettysburg, PA for an all night ghost investigation lockdown, and securing more of the interviews you’ve come to expect from Paratopia. We’re also launching our new website, with more news, blogs and listener blogs, message boards and integrated chat rooms. Big things are afoot.

See you all in 2 weeks, for the premier of Season 2 of Paratopia!

Jeff and Jeremy offer their sincere thanks and appreciation for making Paratopia one of the top Paranormal Podcasts on the planet. We could not have done it without all of you.
